The Little Church
Situated on the shore of Lake Tekapo, this cozy Church is a very popular destination for tourists visiting this part of New Zealand.
At the beginning of December is surrounded by beautiful flowers called Lupins. At 3am in the morning at least 10 photographers were already waiting for the sky to become picturesque with the first lights of the sun rising. I scouted the location the day before, when I took a couple of sunset shots and I was sure that the position I decided to take was perfect.
Indeed, the morning after the light was perfect, the sky full of colours and the spot I wanted was taken. At 3am!
I was able to position my tripod on an escarpment near the car park, right next to a guy that I’m sure I saw there the day before. He definitely had a better vantage point than me and while I was trying to balance myself to avoid falling in the car park, I was able to take multiple shots of the beautiful little Church of the Good Shepherd.
